How it works

From barcode to a verdict you can trust.

Every scan runs the same transparent pipeline: look up the product, compute a source-cited base score, then re-score it against your own profile.

Five steps, every scan

The same pipeline runs whether you're checking a snack or a moisturiser.

1

Scan the barcode

Point your camera at any food or cosmetic barcode, or type it in.

2

We look it up

We check our own catalogue of Open Food Facts and Open Beauty Facts data — no live third-party calls while you wait.

3

See the base score

A transparent score built from Nutri-Score, NOVA, Eco-Score, additives and allergen data, with a plain-language breakdown.

4

We re-check it against you

Your active condition and diet profile re-scores the product — the same product can be an avoid for one person and a good match for another.

5

Get your verdict

Avoid, caution, or good match — every flag cited, plus better alternatives that also pass your profile.

Common questions

Yes — Ingredo.app covers both food and cosmetics from the same scan flow, using Open Food Facts and Open Beauty Facts data.

You'll see a clear "not found" state and can report the barcode, with optional label photos. If you add photos, an automated vision step transcribes the name and ingredient text into a provisional entry — it only reads the text and never sets allergen or safety facts on its own.

Informational, not medical advice — always check the label. Ingredo.app cannot detect trace amounts or cross-contamination in food, or guarantee reactions to cosmetic ingredients; if you have a severe allergy, the physical label and a professional are always authoritative.
